Welcome

Family Ties of Westchester, Inc. is a nonprofit organization providing support services, education, and advocacy to families of children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We strive to provide the facilities, services, and programs that families need to overcome difficulties and live productive lives in Westchester County.

Advocacy

Family Ties of Westchester advocates for you and with you. We can help you to understand your rights, know your options, and navigate the system. Whether it's school services, social services, mental health services, or the juvenile justice system, we are here to help.

Family Ties also advocates on state and national levels.  We have parent, youth, and professional representatives involved with many local, state, and national initiatives to build awareness of what families like yours need to be successful.

Education

Family Ties of Westchester offers a variety of learning opportunities for parents, youths, and professionals.  We operate Parent Academy that provides workshops, trainings, and conference scholarships to help build knowledge, strengthen support, and encourage exchange of ideas.  See our Programs & Services page for further details.

Support

Family Ties understands the needs of families who are experiencing emotional distress and feelings of frustration because we've all been there too. 90% of our staff are parents of children with special needs and truly understand. We are a team of human service professionals and accomplished parent advocates in a community-based setting ready to provide cost-free services to families in need.  We respect culture, traditions, and the values of each family we work with.

We respect your privacy immensely. Any information shared at support group meetings or collected through this website will be kept strictly confidential and will not be shared, sold, reused, or disclosed in other way. Family Ties of Westchester does not sell, rent, loan, or trade personal information. However, blogging is public and can be viewed by anyone on the internet. Please use caution when blogging and please refrain from inappropriate language/content.
